Movie Night

Watching the kings speech makes me realise that we used to live in far simpler times.

I think that today we have far too much technology, we rely on these items like a walking stick without which we would fall down floundering under the loss of our ever improving devices. Lionel Louge sits and listens to the prime ministers speech and consequently the kings speech over the wireless. Only one way to listen, only one way to know what was going on. There would have been no theft of the speech, therefore the control of the source was far higher than today.

Now we have an ever expanding source of technological devices meaning that there is multiple ways of absorbing the information which is being injected into us at all times. This leads to a bombardment of the individual meaning that they become overloaded with the stresses and the strains of modern day society to which we have become so used to.

What would happen if we were to go back to the time of the kings speech and return to the simplicity of the time. Would we be happier? Would our lives be easier? How would we live? Let’s hope that technology makes use live in a superior world, rather than making us take a step backwards to what was.

  1. I love your posts! They’re so simple and informative at the same time!

Anyway, I think it’s better that we have so much more technology around right now because we have means of expressing our opinions instead of just buying into whatever we hear from one person.

I guess the important thing we have to remember is that not everything out there is true unless it’s backed by facts. We just need no know how to differentiate between the lies and the truth. But I do think that technology is a boon.
